EXOL Lubricants Wednesbury Site

The first phase of a much wider development is taking shape at EXOL Lubricants in Wednesbury, and we were on site recently to review progress.

Enabling works are currently underway on a new 1,500m² reinforced concrete service yard, with drainage and preparation works progressing ahead of the construction of the main slab area. While the focus at this stage is on infrastructure, the yard will enhance the functionality of EXOL’s existing facility and provide the essential groundwork to support the company’s future expansion.

The service yard forms the first phase of a wider development. Phase 2 is due to start in January and will see the construction of a new commercial facility alongside EXOL’s existing operation, representing a significant investment in its Wednesbury facilities.

Projects like this show why early coordination matters. Enabling works rarely make headlines, but getting the infrastructure right allows the later phases to be delivered efficiently. We are acting as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor for EXOL, supporting procurement, cost management and contract administration, and working alongside the client, design team and contractor to help coordinate and manage the works through each stage.

It’s always rewarding to see a project move from the planning stage into construction, and we look forward to continuing to support the team as the scheme develops over the coming months.
