Summary

Richard’s Castle was an exclusive development of nine high-quality, luxury homes in rural Herefordshire. It consists of three large, detached houses with four bedrooms and substantial gardens, as well as four detached houses with three bedrooms, and two detached Dorma bungalows with two bedrooms.

The properties all benefited from fine countryside views and a lovely location, just five minutes from the popular historic market town of Ludlow and the same distance from Leominster. We already have a long-standing relationship with J Harpers, so they trusted us with sourcing and securing the land purchase, then managing the Technical Matters Approval of the PIP (Planning in Principle) on their behalf. We were delighted to achieve what we consider to be a very attractive and well-thought-out scheme.

The design and specification of the properties was influenced by the characteristics found throughout rural Herefordshire and this picturesque village. Each property has attractive architectural features, while also benefitting from well-designed, high specification internal layouts. They’ve each been built with a blend of old English red facing bricks and rendered masonry walls with brick plinths. They sit under red concrete tiled or slate pitched roofs with attractive dormer windows, chimney stacks and oak framed apex porches above the front door.

 

There are also double-glazed uPVC windows throughout, with stone sills and brick lintels at the front. At the back of each property, there are large aluminium doors with tall windows and an additional back door. The four-bed units also all have double garages with rooms above them, along with beautiful gardens that cover more than a third of an acre.

 

The development was well received by the public and all units sold in a very short space of time. They also achieved a significantly higher GDV than was initially expected from the appraisal. Success!
