Bespoke Construction Consultants has been appointed by The Church of the Pentecost UK to deliver their flagship 2025 project, the renovation of an existing commercial unit and construction of a new 750-person church hall in Peckham, London.

Valued at £3.4 million, the scheme will be delivered under a JCT Construction Management procurement model, giving the client greater flexibility and control over both the pre-construction and construction phases. This approach is particularly suited to projects with multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements, enabling real-time decision-making without compromising programme or quality.

Having previously used more traditional procurement methods, The Church of the Pentecost UK has embraced this collaborative and agile model to ensure their ambitious vision is realised. Bespoke’s role spans coordination, procurement, cost control, and on-site delivery, ensuring clarity and confidence throughout every stage.

Key features and achievements to date include:

  • Coordinating multiple work packages under tight timelines

  • Implementing the Construction Management model with active client input throughout

  • Delivering a bespoke foundation solution to overcome challenging ground conditions

  • Adapting structural design to suit restricted site access

  • Achieving cost certainty through robust procurement and contract management

  • Identifying value engineering savings without compromising quality

  • Maintaining high client satisfaction with proactive communication

  • Hosting community engagement events at key milestones

Sustainability and design

The project combines low-carbon technologies with heritage-sensitive design. The restored street-facing elevation retains original brickwork and incorporates metal crittal-style windows in keeping with local character. Local suppliers and contractors are being prioritised to support the regional economy.

Community Impact

Once complete, the new church hall will provide a high-quality space not only for worship but also for wider community use, supporting events, activities and outreach that will benefit Peckham and beyond.

Looking to the future

With works scheduled to complete in January 2026, this project represents a major milestone for The Church of the Pentecost UK and a proud collaboration for Bespoke.
