After completing Phase 1 of The Church of the Pentecost UK’s £3.4m church and community hall in Peckham, Bespoke Construction Consultants is happy to announce that we will be moving forward with Phase 2 of the project.
In Phase 1, we renovated an existing commercial unit and built a new church hall for 750 people, using a JCT Construction Management approach. Despite tough ground conditions, limited site access and complex coordination, we kept costs on track and worked closely with the client throughout.
With this success, Bespoke has now been appointed to demolish the neighbouring building, which will become the site for Phase 2.
We are now preparing for the next steps, which include getting local authority approvals and handling Party Wall issues. If all goes as planned, demolition should start in about six weeks and will take another six weeks to finish.
In the meantime, the cleared site will be used for extra parking to help church operations while we finalise and plan the Phase 2 development.
The next phase is an important step in the church’s long term plans.
The proposals include:
A second hall to increase capacity and flexibility
Additional office space to support operational growth
The potential for residential units above the new facilities
Adding residential units is a key part of the plan. The income from these homes will help cover the costs of expanding the church, making the project financially sustainable and supporting the community in the long run.
Bespoke will keep working with the church, helping with everything from early planning and budgeting to design, approvals and final delivery.
Phase 2 continues the progress made in Peckham and shows our shared commitment to high-quality, community focused, and financially sustainable development.
